She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes

The most anticipated musical of the year is here to perform on Malaysia's Broadway in Istana Budaya. I didn't want to loose the opportunity since for the last two seasons I have failed to made myself available due to school and my lack of planning. So this time me and my sister cum cousin, another cousin and friend of cousin have made an effort to go. So 3 weeks before the performance we went to buy the tickets. the lower range of tickets were all sold out and that the only tickets that we could get is the gold seats: RM 353, Silver seats: RM 253 and the A reserve: RM 233. So we figured that the silver and the A reserve is only few bucks difference, Silver had better seats, inclusive of the program book, and plus we had 30% student discounts. So decided to get the silver tickets which cost RM 178 after discount.

There was a whole confusion on transport which pretty much resolved quickly since my dearie Yaya had a plan....phew! So off we went at around 1.30pm. The we arrived somewhere around 2pm plus. The place was crowded with people, performers, and stuff. I could sense that it was a full house show today. By the way, I always liked the idea of going to matinee shows because its convenient for me and that usually its cheaper. On top of that it was on a valentines day. How better to celebrate by watching a love story...
After prayers, and a quick snack and a toilet break, we went to get the program book and that comes with the ticket, we headed in the hall. Our seats were just behind the VIP seats and that yeah for me I was really happy that it was good seat and there were no tall mat salleh's blocking my view...I sooo particular on that. I sometimes bring my prayer cloak and sit on it to give a better view boost. So the show started though the lights weren't that dark.

It started with a kinda Egyptian look, but It was magnificent. The set was really spectacular as if watching a bangsawan. The special effects were interesting and that we try to keep our eyes on the princess and Hang Tuah ofcource!! haha. The story made me cry like when the nanny killed herself because letting the princess to escape, and when the princess actually found out that Hang Tuah would sacrifice his love for the sake of Melacca. In the end the princess was exiled to the Ledang mountain and that she will remain alone for eternity. The story also had its laughing moments like when Raja Ahmad the little boy came and fight with Hang Tuah and imitated the king. Me and Yaya were laughing hysterically when the king danced. It was like parts in the emperors new grove. It was so much fun

During the second half, the fire alarm went off and that caused a stir for a few seconds before they managed to switch it off. I was torn whether to run or stay put. Since Tiara was still singing, we didn't budge since most of us were drown in her sweet voice. So that's was that.

I really enjoyed the show and to me, I felt that it was a good way to celebrate the loving day though I din have a date or not "in love" but I went with the people that i cared about and that we could share tears, laughter's and stories. When we went back, mum was preparing a big fiest for the family that came that night. Sooo nice to have my dad around that we ate together with our extended family. The day was a blast. I hope that I will be able to watch a Malaysian production like P Ramlee the musical and like Puteri Gunung Ledang again soon with a new interpretations and twists. I do hope there are more musicals coming down to Malaysia especially avenue q which I doubt but I will just keep on praying....

Gaza is the word, is the word...oh yeah...

And so the three of us being all girls, sisters and cousins, went to Amcorp mall to see the NSTP fund for Gaza charity fair. The hall was packed with people and artists trying to raise funds to help those in need in Gaza. It was packed with strollers, kids and yes it was one heck of a circus...but I can Imagine that people take it as a family outing too. The first person that I saw in the fair was the guy cooking above. He was sweating like mad there and I must admit that the air con was not cool enough to withstand the crowd.
Next was a bunch of TV3 hosts selling cakes from various hotels....mmmm...yummy...

I really can't remember their names but their looks were very similar. So in the name of charity i bought 2 slices of cakes at rm10 per piece....I would never buy if it were not for charity. Its way too expensive. Anyhow that's the only Item that we could afford there too. The cakes that bought is on the picture below. The one with the orange garnish, is the chocolate brownie and the one beside the chocolate banana, chocolate cheese.

Besides cakes there were also cupcakes that you could decorate your own, plus the guy selling it was doing some jingles while selling...

Besides that on the main stage, there were artists trying to auction off their clothes for a very reasonable price. Like Datuk Siti sold her dress for Rm500. I'm sure that when she bought it, it was worth thousands or she might got it for free.

This one belonged to the Late Sudirman.

I couldn't stay for very long so after I make sure that I seen everything, I went out. Finally got some air, then proceed to the DVD shop. To my surprise, shopping for DVD's in KL are far more pricey then Penang and Alor Setar. I still bought anyway since classical DVD's are very rare and I'll grab every opportunity that I can get. So I spent rm75 for 6 DVD's...*sigh*. The other thing I bought there are 2nd hand CD's at the flea market at the basement. Hehe, so called for charity, bought others stuff along the way. The CD's were Deutsche Grammophon and Decca label...So loving it since it only cost me RM20 per CD...yay!! so gone RM155 that day. I shall now not spend till I have too. Anyhow it was a great event and according to Sherilyn, there will be another charity for Gaza also at Amcorp mall 2 weeks from now. Should go and see it...
